Barberry ‘Rose Glow’
Japanese barberries may be the most versatile of all landscape plants, at home in the garden, in hedges, against a foundation, as a barrier or as a dense shrubby groundcover for large areas. They are compact shrubs that grow with an attractive branching habit. Their smaller spatula-shaped leaves are distinctive, they have very showy red fruits which hang from the delicate branches, and almost all varieties have brilliant fall colors that set the standard for autumn landscape shrubs. In short, they have something to offer in every season.

Elderberry Sambucus ‘Black Lace’
One of the first of the new elderberries to show off the dark, Japanese maple-like lace foliage, and is stunning. Umbels of pink flowers, 10 inches across, dot the plant in mid-summer and give off a slight lemony fragrance. It makes a wonderful accent plant and can even be trained into a small tree or standard.

Forsythia ‘Northern Gold’
Northern Gold forsythia was developed in Canada, and is one tough customer. You don’t need much of a green thumb to grow forsythias. Just give them full sun, decent soil and lots of room to grow; they’ll settle right in. They can be successfully used as solitary accents, in groups of 3, or massed together as a tall hedge or barrier. Place them in the landscape where they will command attention with their golden flowers, but where they can fade into the background the rest of the year, as they have few other ornamental attributes.

Hydrangea ‘Limelight’
‘Limelight’ has unique bright green blooms in mid-summer that holds its bright and refreshing color right into autumn when the blooms change color to a rich deep pink. The autumn display of green and pink blooms on the same plant is breathtaking! The color makes a great addition to the garden and it blends wonderfully with all other colors. The flower heads are of good size, ranging from 6 to 12 inches and are held upright on the shrub. The blooms are well distributed making a very nice plant and display.

Hydrangea ‘Pinky Winky’
A very unique new hardy Hydrangea with massive two-toned, white and pink flowers. strong upright red stems hold the large blooms up so you never get the dropping look you get from Pee Gee Hydrangea. The flowers heads continue to grow throughout the season and as the older flowers turn dark pink the new flowers continue to emerge white. The effect is stunning. A truly remarkable plant for the summer and autumn landscape.

Physocarpus ‘Summer Wine’
A cool new purple ninebark hybrid that resulted from a cross between Physocarpus o. ‘Nana’ and Diabolo® This great new plant has attractive wine colored foliage and a dense, compact habit is about 1/2 the normal size. Use it next to yellow and bright green plants, or against a light background to get the best effect. Add color and vibrancy to any garden, especially in the spring when it blooms with white button-like blooms. This is a dramatic improvement over existing cultivars.

Weigela ‘Wine And Roses’
Weigela are an old-fashioned plant but newer varieties are showing up every year. Wine and Roses is a medium sized cultivar with dark burgundy/brown purple foliage and deep rosy pink flowers. Wine and Roses works well as an accent plant or in mass plantings. It tolerates a variety of soils and is drought tolerant once established. Foliage on old stems tends to dull quickly so prune old canes after the first flush of blooms to encourage brighter foliage growth. Weigela are also very attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies.
